Hi everyone, Spring is nearly upon us (yay!) and I am writing this on a sunny Sunday afternoon in the studio. Sometimes it’s nice to work on a weekend. There’s very little to distract me, and I can tick off lots of little jobs making for a less hectic start to the new week. The business has had a great start to the year, and amongst other things, I am thrilled to now have an Australian distributor for my cards. Waterlyn are the lovely company I am working with, and they also distribute the cards of designer friends Tache Crafts, Megan Claire and Paper Salad.
The next two months promise to be busy as I have two trade shows in May. One is PG Live, the greetings card show that takes place at the Business Design Centre in London on the 10th and 11th of May. On the 13th I will be jetting out to New York to take part in Surtex show for the first time! Surtex is an international show that individual designers and studios attend to both sell and license artwork. Licensing is a big part of my business and I can’t wait to hopefully connect with some new potential clients. I am going to be exhibiting alongside my friend Jules McKeown. Jules was my tutor when I studied at Leeds College of Art and we have remained in contact since! We will be exhibiting under the name The Pattern Social in booth 546. Take a look at our website to find out more about Jules!
We will be decorating our booth with colourful fabric banners amongst other product examples which will take some planning, but our focus at the moment is finishing our artwork! Here is a sneak peek at some of my work. I have really enjoyed pulling collections together and look forward to developing a couple of new ranges before everything goes to print next month!
